The Loadout #1
Hi there,
Welcome to the first issue of The Loadout. Once a month you'll get the best agents worth building, a prompt to copy, and what changed in the AI agent world. Three minutes, then back to your day.
🧰 This month's 6 agents
Sterling, the Investor's Desk. New. A calm, sceptical research partner for your shares. Fact sheets with sources, eight famous investing approaches side by side, a red-flag hunter and a journal that keeps you to your own rules. It never tells you what to buy. Advanced kit: 7 skills. → Build Sterling
Hollis, the night-shift assistant. New. Works while you sleep and leaves you one tidy handover each morning: what's done, what needs your OK, and anything it held back. Nothing reaches a customer without your yes. Advanced kit: 6 skills, including an approvals queue you answer in one line ("yes to 1 and 3"). → Build Hollis
Ashworth, the Butler. Impeccably polite, quietly brilliant, slightly dry. This month we installed him on all 8 platforms we support, from ChatGPT to Grok to Hermes. He passed every test, including "a human butler would require rather more cupboard space". Now an advanced kit with 6 skills, from the morning briefing to the evening turndown. → Build Ashworth
Chase, the Invoice Chaser. Gets you paid without the awkward conversation. His reminders firm up gently, and he never sends without your OK. Now with 6 skills, including UK late-payment interest and a cash-in forecast. → Build Chase
Rivet, the Trades Office. The office help every builder, sparky and plumber wishes they had: enquiries, quotes and deposits. Now with 6 skills, including a job tracker from enquiry to paid. → Build Rivet
Unit-7, the Deadpan Robot. Brutally honest. Humour setting: 75%. Ask him about your business plan, if you dare. Free to download. → Get Unit-7
💡 Use case of the month: move your custom GPT or Gem before it's switched off
OpenAI is retiring custom GPTs, and Google is phasing out Gems in favour of skills. If you built one for quotes, replies or FAQs, don't let it disappear.
- Copy its full instructions and download any files you gave it.
- Ask your agent to rewrite the instructions as a skill: when to use it, the steps, the output and the things it must never do.
- Test it on three real past requests, then switch over.
It also flags what won't carry over by itself, such as connected apps and sharing settings. → See the use case and prompt
✍️ Prompt of the month: the job brief
ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok can all run jobs in the background now. They mostly go wrong when the brief is vague. Paste this in before you leave any agent to it:
Here's a job I want you to do regularly: [the job]. Run it [when]. You may [read, sort, draft] without asking. Ask me first before sending, paying, booking or deleting anything. Never share personal data or agree prices. Report back in three lines [where]. Stop and tell me if anything looks unusual. Read this brief back to me in your own words, list anything unclear, then wait for my OK.

📰 What changed this month
- Custom GPTs switch off on 11 December 2026. OpenAI is moving them to plugins. The instructions carry over, but custom actions, model choice and sharing settings don't. (Source: Mixed News)
- Gemini: skills replace Gems. Reusable skills are rolling out in the Gemini app now, and Gems move into Settings from 17 November before retiring later. Free accounts now run on Flash-Lite. Good news: we tested a KitMyAgent skill on a free account and it worked first time. (Source: Android Central)
- ChatGPT and Codex are now one Mac app. The Codex download now installs the ChatGPT app. Projects there can work inside a folder on your computer and read its AGENTS.md file. (Source: our own install test, October 2026)
- Claude's Docs, Slides and Design are out of beta on every plan, including Free. If you used the standalone Claude Design site, download your projects before it closes on 14 December 2026. (Source: Unite.AI)
🔧 Install tip: start a fresh chat
Just pasted your agent's instructions into a ChatGPT or Claude project? Start a new chat. A chat you'd already opened keeps the instructions it started with, so your agent won't show up there. We tripped over this ourselves while testing this month.
That's it for issue #1. Reply and tell us what agent you'd love us to build next. We read every reply.
